HRO's Programs & Events Manager Snares DBJ Forty Under 40 Award
03/12/2010
Denver, Colorado, March 12, 2010 – Holme Roberts & Owen’s Business Programs & Events Manager Terri Taylor was recently recognized as one of the Denver Business Journal’s Forty Under 40. Ms. Taylor received the honor because of her commitment to professional excellence and her substantial contributions to the Denver community.
Ms. Taylor has a impressive history of impassioned community service. At the Downtown Denver Partnership, an economic and business development organization that plans and manages downtown Denver, Terri served as Membership Manager for seven years. She created the Emerging Leaders Program designed to cultivate the organization’s future leadership.
With HRO since late 2008, Ms. Taylor drives attorney engagement through programs and activities. Recently, she coordinated the firm's annual Jim Bye Day, an event celebrating the legacy of this community-focused HRO attorney. In conjunction with Denver's Road Home, Mile High United Way and several other organizations, Ms. Taylor created an event in which over 200 homeless families received services and were treated to a day of Halloween fun at the Children’s Museum of Denver.
Active in multiple community organizations, Ms. Taylor is a 2007 graduate of the Denver Metro Chamber Foundation’s Leadership Denver Program and is a current participant in the Foundation's Legacy Denver program. She is currently on the Board of Directors for the Colorado Women’s Hall of Fame, and served as fundraising chair for the 2008 Induction Event, generating record-setting revenue and attendance. She is serving as co-fundraising chair for the 2010 Induction Event. Ms. Taylor has previously served on the Boards of Directors for the Delores Project, Denver Art Museum’s CultureHaus, Art at the Stations, and the Lower Denver Downtown Arts District. She serves on the planning committee for the Annual PJ Party, the largest annual fundraiser for Denver’s Road Home, and has volunteered with Denver Health, the Children’s Hospital Foundation, Concert for Kids, Urban Peak, and the Colorado Spina Bifida Foundation. She recently served on the Leadership Denver 35th Anniversary planning committee, preparing for the Denver Metro Chamber Leadership Foundation's major alumni event in June 2009.
Another notable accomplishment is the role Ms. Taylor played during the 2008 Democratic National Convention in Denver. Ms. Taylor worked closely with the 2008 Host Committee, helping to secure Denver as the destination city. And during that week, she managed and produced over 22 events in six days for companies and associations ranging from political organizations, high-profile media outlets, elected officials and businesses.
Says HRO firmwide managing partner Kenneth Lund of Ms. Taylor: “Terri’s spirit, enthusiasm, and energy are an inspiration to us all. Not only has she built incredible relationships in the Denver community, but she has the drive and dedication to make great things happen.”
