Telecommunications
With our home office in Denver, HRO is located at a global center of the telecommunications industry. Denver was the cradle of the domestic cable television industry in the 1950’s, and has since become the headquarters of a variety of regional, national and international telecommunications companies.
Accordingly, our telecommunications practice spans the breadth of the telecommunications industry. Our clients range from public U.S., European and Asian corporations to closely-held local operations. Their activities are as diverse as the industry itself, ranging from domestic and international cable television, to fiber optic telephony and broadband/voice-over IP.
Telecommunications lawyers at HRO have a strong transactional and financing focus. We have represented telecommunications clients in a broad range of financing transactions, including underwritten equity offerings, venture capital financings, 144A debt offerings and other securities listings on various European and United States exchanges. We regularly assist with mergers, acquisitions, exchange offers, tender offers and consolidations involving telecommunications companies, often drawing on the resources of our tax, intellectual property, litigation, real estate and international law experts to meet client needs.
We also have a team of experienced telecommunications trial attorneys who have litigated numerous cases under the Telecommunications Act of 1996, the Telephone Consumer Protection Act and other federal statutes relating to access charges, transit traffic and other telecom-related issues. In addition, lawyers in our litigation practice group have argued several telecom cases before federal and state appellate courts.
Our London, Dublin and Munich offices make HRO uniquely situated to serve emerging U.S. telecommunications companies looking to expand into European markets, as well as more established telecom operators who desire ready access to U.S. and European capital markets.
