Experience

Sara Phillips is a consultant in the London offices of HRO.

Sara Phillips’ practice is primarily advising clients, both employers and senior executives, on contentious and non-contentious employment issues, including discrimination, redundancy, re-organisations, restrictive covenants, dismissals, contracts of employment, and policies and procedures.

Prior to joining HRO Grant Dawe LLP, Sara was an associate at Reynolds Porter Chamberlain LLP, a London law firm, and Mayer Brown LLP, an international law firm.

  • Acted for major US company in High Court claim against 3 former employees for misuse of confidential information and enforcement of restrictive covenants, resulting in successful High Court judgment.
  • Acted for former Chief Executive and Chairman of a major UK plc, in high profile High Court claim for breach of contract (failure to pay settlement monies for alleged breach of warranty).
  • Acted for German bank in implementing major redundancy programme, managed employee disputes and successfully avoided potential multiple unfair dismissal claims.
  • Acted for major newspaper group on various tribunal claims, including unfair dismissal claims; disability and sex discrimination claims; negotiated successful settlements in each claim.
  • Acted for major trade union in race discrimination claim. Tribunal held in trade union’s favour on all grounds, awarding costs on an indemnity basis.
  • Acted for solicitor in equal pay and sex discrimination claim against major City law firm. Negotiated successful settlement.
