Experience
Carolyn Cox joined the firm in 1999 as special counsel in the Salt Lake City office. She has substantial experience in employment matters, having practiced in that area since 1986 as an associate and then as a shareholder with a Salt Lake City law firm. Ms. Cox is a member of the firm’s commercial litigation practice group and the ERISA practice group.
Ms. Cox focuses her practice in the employment and benefits area, defending employers in a wide variety of matters, including discrimination, contract, non-compete, ERISA and tort cases. She handles matters in both administrative and judicial forums. Ms. Cox also advises clients on a regular basis regarding their policies and procedures in the employment and benefit areas.
Ms. Cox has represented large companies such as a national telecommunications company, a regional utility company and a national chemical manufacturer, along with a number of smaller companies in a variety of fields. Ms. Cox also has significant experience providing advice to, and litigating on behalf of, health care systems.
Ms. Cox is recognized by Chamber & Partners as a leading employment and benefits lawyer in Utah.
