Experience
Jill Chalmers is a partner in the Colorado Springs office.
Ms. Chalmers is the Chair of HRO’s trademark best practices group and she offers her expertise to organizations and individuals regarding the protection and management of their intellectual property assets. Her practice in the intellectual property area focuses on trademarks, copyrights and trade secrets and transactional issues relating to intellectual property. This includes negotiating and drafting licensing agreements, filing and prosecuting trademark and copyright registration applications, conducting intellectual property audits, drafting policies and guidelines relating to intellectual property, counseling organizations on copyright and trademark issues, enforcement mechanisms; and advising on infringement-related issues.
Ms. Chalmers’ practice also emphasizes the representation of nonprofit organizations, including sports organizations, as well as charitable and educational organizations and institutions. Her nonprofit practice generally involves providing advice relating to corporate governance, management and structure; sponsorship and licensing; publishing; contracts; and internal and external disputes.
Ms. Chalmers is licensed to practice law in both Colorado and in California.
From 1994-1996 Ms. Chalmers was an associate at Stradling, Yocca, Carlson & Rauth in California and from 1996-2000 (prior to joining HRO), she competed full-time as an elite triathlete for the United States National Triathlon Team in national and international competition (including the World Cup Triathlon series, World Championships for 1996-2000 and the 1999 Pan American Games).
